All presenters (Keynote, Invited, Oral, Workshop, and Poster) accepted for The 5th Mekong TESOL Conference agree to abide by the academic integrity and professional conduct rules set forth in this document.
Authorship & Scientific Responsibility
The primary author submitting the proposal warrants that the presentation represents original work conducted by the designated authors. All contributing co-authors must have consented to inclusion in the abstract submission.
- Plagiarism Prohibition: Mekong TESOL upholds zero tolerance for plagiarism, data falsification, or unauthorized duplication. Appropriate academic citation standards (APA 7th edition recommended) must be observed throughout the slides and materials.
- Sole Accountability: Presenters hold sole intellectual and scientific responsibility for the accuracy of empirical claims, methodology, and theoretical frameworks presented.
Research Ethics & Data Confidentiality
Any research involving human participants (e.g., student language learners, classroom observations, teacher interviews) must adhere to recognized research ethics standards:
- Informed Consent: Presenters must ensure that necessary permissions and institutional clearances (IRB or departmental) were secured prior to data collection.
- Learner Anonymity: Real names, identifiable photos, or sensitive personal data of students, underage pupils, or institutional partners must be anonymized or pixelated unless explicit consent has been granted.
Copyright & Publishing Rights
Presenters retain the fundamental intellectual property and moral copyright over their research findings and educational slide decks.
- Proceedings Publication: By submitting an abstract, authors grant the Mekong TESOL Organizing Committee a non-exclusive license to publish the abstract and author bios in the official Conference Program Booklet and digital archives.
- Audiovisual Recording: The conference may record, photograph, or livestream selected sessions for academic dissemination, educational archiving, and non-commercial promotion. If your presentation contains proprietary data under embargo, you may notify the Committee in writing at least 7 days prior to the conference to opt out of video recording.
Presentation Scheduling & Logistics
The Academic Program Committee reserves the authority to assign presentation rooms, concurrent time slots, and session chairs.
- Time Management: Oral presentations are allotted 25 minutes (20 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A). Interactive workshops are allotted 45 minutes. Session chairs will strictly enforce timing to maintain seamless transitions between parallel tracks.
- Audiovisual Setup: Rooms provide HDMI connection, projection screen, presenter clicker, and audio output. Presenters must test their slides in their assigned room at least 15 minutes before the session starts.
- Slide Deck Format: Please prepare your presentation in 16:9 widescreen format (PowerPoint or PDF). Upload your file to the designated drive by June 20, 2026.
